2025 WVU Day of Giving

The first 40 gifts to any School of Medicine fund unlocks $25,000 to STEPS fund. Every time an additional 40 gifts is donated to the School of Medicine, an additional $25,000 is unlocked with the chance to unlock a total of $100,000 in support to STEPS.

Embrace your Mountaineer spirit! The top three participating groups with the most gifts from WVU alumni between 5 and 6 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - College of Creative Arts and Media ($3,000) 2nd place - 4-H Youth Development ($2,000) 3rd place - WVU Athletics ($1,000)

Here’s a toast to our friends! The top three participating groups with the most gifts from friends between 7 and 8 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - 4-H Youth Development ($3,000) 2nd place - WVU Athletics ($2,000) 3rd place - Rosenbaum Family House ($1,000)

Calling alumni from the classes of 2014-2024! The top three participating groups with the most gifts between 8 and 9 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - Chambers College of Business & Economics ($3,000) 2nd place - 4-H Youth Development ($2,000) 3rd place TIE - Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources ($500) 3rd place TIE - WVU Center for Community Engagement ($500)

Never made a gift to WVU? Please consider making one this hour! Every donation helps! The top three participating groups with the most first-time donor gifts between 12 and 1 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - WVU Athletics ($3,000) 2nd place - 4-H Youth Development ($2,000) 3rd place - WVU Medicine Children's ($1,000)

Gifts of all sizes add up and if you’re making an extra-large gift on Day of Giving it can go even further during this hour. The top participating groups with the largest gift online between 2 and 3 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place TIE - College of Law ($1,500) 1st place TIE - WVU Athletics ($1,500), 2nd place TIE - Chambers College of Business & Economics ($1,000) 2nd place TIE - School of Dentistry ($1,000) 3rd Place - Statler College of Engineering & Mineral Resources ($1,000)

Take a photo or video with the Day of Giving flag prop (mailed as a Day of Giving Save the Date) and share on social using #WVUDayofGiving. We’ll select one of the best posts between March 17 and March 25 to receive an extra $500 for the unit tagged. Winner: Honors College

After donating, tell others about your gift on social media using #WVUDayofGiving and #IGave. We will choose some of the most creative or inspiring posts to receive additional funding for the units tagged. To be eligible, users must make sure their privacy settings for the post are set to public. The top three participating groups with the most gifts from WVU alumni between 10 and 11 a.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - College of Creative Arts and Media ($3,000) 2nd place - Chapter Scholarships ($2,000) 3rd place - Chambers College of Business & Economics ($1,000)

We have a generous community beyond our alumni who are passionate about WVU. The top three participating groups with the most gifts from friends between 11 a.m. and noon will win additional funding. 1st place - 4-H Youth Development ($3,000) 2nd place - WVU Athletics ($2,000) 3rd place - College of Creative Arts and Media ($1,000)

As faculty or staff members, you make a difference every day for students and programs. Support an area most meaningful to you and help make a greater impact. The top three participating groups with the most faculty and staff gifts between 3 and 4 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - College of Creative Arts and Media ($3,000) 2nd place - 4-H Youth Development ($2,000) 3rd place - Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources ($1,000)

A smaller monthly payment can add up to a significant gift over time. The top three participating groups with the most gifts of $120 or more, OR $10 per month for the next year, received online between 4 and 5 p.m. will win additional funding. 1st place - Rosenbaum Family House ($3,500) 2nd place - WVU Athletics ($2,500)

Help spread the word about WVU Day of Giving by sharing the promotional video from the @WVUFoundation Facebook account (posted on March 17). The top three participating groups that receive the most shares of the video from their page from March 17 through the end of the day on March 25 will win additional funding. 1st ($500) – Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute | 2nd ($500) – Honors College

On social, post a picture of yourself and/or your kid(s) in WVU gear and we’ll select some of the most creative to earn additional funding.
