WVU HSC Interprofessional Education (IPE) Program

This WVU Day of Giving, on March 26, 2025, your donations to the WVU HSC Office of Interprofessional Education will help advance interprofessional education (IPE) programs that prepare our future healthcare leaders to work collaboratively and effectively across disciplines. By contributing to this cause, you will directly impact initiatives in didactic, simulation, clinical, and community settings, where students from all five Health Sciences Center schools—Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health—along with students from the School of Social Work, come together to enhance patient care and community health.

Your gift will support key aspects of the four core competencies of IPE:

  1. Roles and Responsibilities – Your contribution will help students better understand their professional roles and how they can collaborate across disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care.
  2. Teamwork – With your support, we can strengthen students' teamwork skills, fostering collaboration between diverse healthcare professionals and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
  3. Communication – Donations will help equip students with the communication tools they need to work efficiently and respectfully in team-based environments, improving patient outcomes and enhancing the care experience.
  4. Values and Ethics – Your generosity will reinforce the importance of shared values, mutual respect, and a commitment to ethics in all healthcare settings, shaping professionals who prioritize compassionate, ethical care.
