Support Global Engagement at WVU

Make a lasting impact on students and the world

At West Virginia University’s Office of Global Affairs, we believe that global experiences and international engagement are essential for shaping future leaders, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and preparing students for careers in an increasingly interconnected world. Your support helps ensure that every student—regardless of financial background—has access to global opportunities that will transform their academic and personal journeys.

By donating to one of our three dedicated funds, you can help us:

  • Support students facing unexpected challenges through critical needs and emergency support
  • Provide scholarships for study abroad, ensuring more Mountaineers can gain international experience
  • Assist international students in achieving their academic goals at WVU

Your generosity empowers students to think beyond borders, develop a global mindset, and become leaders in their fields.

Ways to Give

2V316 – Critical Needs Fund

The Critical Needs Fund provides immediate assistance to students who face unexpected financial hardship related to international experiences. Whether it’s emergency travel, visa complications, housing challenges, or unforeseen circumstances, this fund ensures that students can continue their global learning journeys without interruption.

WVU’s goal is to ensure that all students, regardless of financial background, can achieve their goals through study abroad. WVU is home to students from across the globe, and we are committed to ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive. The Barbara Alvis International Student Emergency Fund provides financial assistance to outstanding international students and emergency assistance for those facing unexpected hardships while studying in the U.S.
