When you make a gift to the WVU School of Nursing, you are supporting one of the top-rated nursing programs in the country. We don’t just educate and train nurses to provide compassionate care in the state and beyond, we prepare nurses for impactful contributions in the communities in which they live and serve.
Your support empowers the WVU School of Nursing to create opportunities in the following ways:
Student Scholarships (2S623). Give to the Nursing Unrestricted Scholarship Fund to make a difference in the lives of our students! Student scholarships make the difference between obtaining a nursing education and not being able to afford nursing school.
Dean’s Fund (2U050). An unrestricted discretionary fund monitored and approved only by the Dean of the WVU School of Nursing, the School of Nursing Dean’s Fund has an impact far beyond the classroom. Often, our Dean’s Fund helps nursing students with financial emergencies that keep them enrolled and excelling in our programs.
Peer Tutoring (3V1148). The Dr. Kari and David Sand-Jecklin Peer Tutoring Program Fund supports the students in the School of Nursing on all five of our campuses. If students need a little extra help in a particular course or area, our peer tutors are ready to step up! Additionally, our students who excel have the opportunity to be employed as peer tutors, making the program an excellent job opportunity while in school.
Faith Community Nursing (2V865). Led and supported by Dr. Angel Smothers, the Faith Community Nursing Program currently serves most of the counties throughout West Virginia. This state-wide initiative follows the nationally recognized faith community nursing course that is open to individuals who work as chaplains, pastors, social workers and others. However, only nurses who complete the course can use the title Faith Community Nurse serving the people of West Virginia.
Student Ambassadors (2W1739). Our Student Ambassador Fund provides the opportunity for students to be leaders on their campuses at each of the five School of Nursing campuses. Our ambassadors provide mentoring, donor relations, tour guiding, Q and A sessions, plus so much more! Giving to the Student Ambassador Fund provided scholarships each semester that an ambassador serves the WVU School of Nursing.
