School of Medicine - Eastern Division

For 20 years, the WVU School of Medicine Eastern Campus has been at the forefront of rural healthcare education, providing third- and fourth-year medical students with unparalleled clinical training in partnership with WVU Medicine Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Centers.

Our students choose the Eastern Campus not only for its personalized, one-on-one faculty mentorship but also for its deep commitment to rural healthcare—an essential pillar of West Virginia’s medical landscape. Through immersive clinical experiences, students train in hospitals, clinics, and community health centers across the Eastern Panhandle, gaining the hands-on expertise needed to serve rural populations effectively.

Dr. Richard H. Catlett III Internal Medicine Fund (2U208)

A gift to Dr. Richard H. Catlett III Internal Medicine fund provides vital support to the Department of Internal Medicine. It helps award a medical student who demonstrates outstanding humanism in the field of Internal Medicine, recognizing their compassionate approach to patient care.

The first 40 gifts to any School of Medicine fund unlocks $25,000 to STEPS fund. Every time an additional 40 gifts is donated to the School of Medicine, an additional $25,000 is unlocked with the chance to unlock a total of $100,000 in support to STEPS.
