It’s no secret that women face unique challenges, especially when it comes to the breaking leadership glass ceilings. Did you know that women make up over 60% of the higher education workforce, but only hold 30% of its executive leadership positions? Indeed, women are not proportionately represented in leadership positions in higher education and beyond. To address these challenges, the WVU Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) mission is to empower and engage women on campus, helping them achieve their full professional potential and form a community within which the participants can initiate valuable new relationships.
This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the WLI. Over the past decade, the WVU Women’s Leadership Initiative has helped to move the needle of success for dozens of women within the University system by “providing WVU women with the tools, resources, development opportunities, and professional networks that will enable them to reach their full potential.” The WLI also reimagined ways to build critical success, namely through networking and leadership support, that focused on the unique needs of women leaders at WVU.
Through your generous support (whatever that may be), you invest in the mission of the WLI. Your donation will be used to expand opportunities to support women’s research, outreach, and skill enhancement to ensure that they experience long-term success in their leadership roles. The WLI fund will provide women access to WLI sponsored professional development opportunities (e.g., WLI Strengths Coaching, Leadership Bridge training, etc.) as well as advancing women leaders at WVU.
And if you are unable to make a financial donation at this time, we ask that you share this giving opportunity with your networks.
