Science Adventure School
Science Adventure School is an adventure-based, outdoor science school dedicated to empowering and educating West Virginia’s youth. We integrate adventure sports-driven STEM curriculum with a hands-on, engaging environmental curriculum at the world-class Summit Bechtel Reserve as well as WVU’s own historic Jackson's Mill and the Adventure WV Outdoor Education Center. With a distinct focus on student development through experiential education, Science Adventure School addresses critical issues in WV through meaningful experiences that inspire inquiry, instill confidence, and empower the leaders of tomorrow.
Your support is critical to help Science Adventure School (SAS) serve every student, from every demographic, in WV. Our goal is to continue to provide this program for free for public school students, so every dollar goes directly to helping students gain access to Science Adventure School. Your monetary donations will go directly towards your choice of student support. These are the areas that are in need of support:
WV Science Adventure School Fund (2W1351) – Donations received to this account will go directly towards student tuition. Each dollar raised here translates to more students accessing SAS. It’s important for us that the program is never cost prohibitive for students who need it most, and we can only achieve that with your help.
Science Adventure School Student Assistance Fund (2W1595) – Because we encourage all students to attend SAS from every walk of life, it is common that we encounter students who may be lacking the clothing, shoes, or other gear needed for a fun and comfortable week at SAS. Donations received to this account will go towards being able to purchase necessary items for students so that they don’t just have, for example, a warm jacket or shoes that fit while at SAS, but they can take it with them when they leave.
