Why we need your support
Global Affairs works with academic departments across the University to ensure all students have access and the opportunity to participate in an experience abroad. These experiences propel students towards success, equipping them to be part of a global workforce. Each year, hundreds of WVU students go abroad as part of their studies and workforce preparation, adventuring to more than 50 countries.
WVU is home to students from 114 different countries, each helping to enrich the academic culture and cultural environment of campus. Through the diversity of thought and perspective, WVU is a better place in part thanks to the 1,400 international students who chose to be Mountaineers.
How can you help
Scholarships for Education Abroad -
Last year, Global Affairs awarded over 20 scholarships helping to make students’ dreams of studying abroad a reality. While we’ve greatly grown our scholarship offerings in recent years, we still have a lot of work to do. Your contributions will help students have transformative experiences, helping deepen their understanding of the world while gaining a valuable global perspective that is essential in today’s workforce.
Scholarships for International Students -
WVU receives thousands of applications each year from international students hoping to join the Mountaineer family. Many of these students, though highly qualified, do not have the financial means to enable their study in the United States. Through the generosity of donors, Global Affairs was able to award over 100 scholarships this past year, but there are countless more students who can benefit from financial assistance. These gifted students have the potential to make incredible contributions to the University community, both academically and socially.
Global Affairs Advancement -
To help advance WVU’s international mission, Global Affairs leads projects around the globe helping promote research, teaching, and academic cooperation. The support of our donors is essential in helping WVU remain an elite, global university.
