Your support is critical to help the WVU Cancer Institute go above and go beyond. We rely on passionate, loyal and caring members of the Mountaineer family, like you, to provide important opportunities for our patients and the greater WVU community.
Your support empowers the WVU Cancer Institute to create incredible opportunities for our patients and aid in carrying out our mission. As you consider where to direct your dollars, we encourage you to consider one of the following opportunities:
Pancreatic Cancer Fund - 2R423
• The pancreatic cancer program is nationally recognized for comprehensive pancreatic cancer treatment, and it’s one of the highest-volume programs in the country. Through innovation and research, the specialists at WVU aim to increase the cure rate, extend survival and make treatments – including surgery and chemotherapy – more tolerable. Help further advance pancreatic cancer treatment options and research by supporting the Pancreatic Cancer Fund.
Cancer Institute Music Therapy Program - 2W1720
• The music therapy program provides support and empowerment to patients while they receive chemotherapy and infusion treatments. Music therapists are trained to use music experiences to support relaxation, alleviate symptoms of treatment, reduce anxiety, improve physical strength and quality of life. The WVU Cancer Institute currently has a part-time music therapist who interacts with patients one day a week, but our goal is to expand the program by hiring a full-time therapist dedicated to cancer patients at WVU. Support the healing benefits of music therapy and cancer care by supporting the Cancer Institute Music Therapy Fund.
Soup for the Soul Fund - 2W1007
• The Soup for the Soul program provides free lunches to patients while undergoing chemotherapy and infusion treatments. The Cancer Institute provides nearly 10,000 meals to patients annually. A gift of $5 can provide a meal of nourishment and comfort to a patient fighting cancer through the Soup for the Soul program.
When you make a gift – no matter the size – you help make an immediate impact for the WVU Cancer Institute.
