WVU Alumni Greatest Needs
When you give to the WVU Alumni Association, you make it possible to offer internships and career development opportunities, provide scholarships to deserving students and promote outreach by connecting alumni and friends around the globe. It's all about Mountaineers helping Mountaineers. Your generous gift has an immeasurable impact on students and fellow alumni. Money raised through the WVU Alumni Greatest Needs Fund will support:
Internships and Career Development
Every year, the Alumni Association employs a team of interns who work side-by-side with our staff, receiving hands-on experience in their respective fields. Your gift directly helps current students apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to prepare for the workforce in fields like digital marketing, business administration, hospitality management, and event planning.
Engagement with Alumni and Friends
Connecting alumni and friends across the country, the Alumni Association supports more than 75 chapters and interest groups that gather regularly to volunteer, cheer on the Mountaineers, recruit prospective students and fundraise for student scholarships.
Mentoring and Career Services
The Alumni Association offers mentoring programs and platforms like WVU CONNECT, to connect alumni to colleagues and students. With a global reach, this program features a place to share job postings, seek/offer mentorship and search to find classmates and groups, facilitating connection based upon interests.
Student-Centered Programming
Supporting students before, during, and after their time at WVU through programming, scholarships, and internships is a priority for the WVU Alumni Association as we support them on their journey to becoming alumni.
Professional Networking
Supporting WVU graduates through networking opportunities is a priority of the WVU Alumni Association. We’re here to help recent graduates transition to new careers, connect business leaders in the same industry or city, or assist Mountaineers in hiring fellow Mountaineers. Your support allows us to empower organizations and people to form new partnerships with West Virginia University and the state of West Virginia.
Alumni Travel Outreach
Striving to keep alumni connected and informed, the Alumni Association maintains initiatives to share important updates from our alma mater. Your support helps to ensure the continuous production of the WVU Alumni Newsletter, monthly Alumni Spotlight videos, WVU Alumni podcast, the WVU Alumni App for smartphones and the WVU Magazine.
