Research Support

Help the Libraries to bolster our efforts in supporting the University’s R1 mission and researchers at every stage of their research process.

Researchers’ needs evolve as technologies evolve and federal funders develop new requirements. By continually evolving our expert services and developing new tools, we help University researchers step up to meet new demands.

WVU Libraries connects researchers with the scholarship and funding opportunities of their field. We help make their data and discoveries findable and accessible. And we help increase the impact of their work, enhancing the University’s reputation and student and regional scientific and academic opportunities.

There are many ways to support WVU Libraries research services, including:

  • Robert F. Munn Undergraduate Library Scholars Fund - 3V1172: Awards graduating Honors students for outstanding research contributions in the humanities or social sciences.

  • Anonymous Libraries Graduate Research Fund - 3R058: Provides graduate student research opportunities in the areas of science, industry, medicine (including veterinary medicine), or agriculture.

  • James M. Shumway & Lizbeth A. Pyle Health Humanities Fund - 3L017: Funds opportunities in health humanities and narrative medicine.

  • West Virginia Collection Operations - 2U054: Supports researchers with their travel to use WVRHC collections, building on its mission to enhance access to the history and culture of West Virginia and the central Appalachian region.

  • WVU Humanities Center Support Fund - 2W1365: Through various yearly grants and fellowships, the WVU Humanities Center supports humanities-focused research with the goal of showcasing the vital role of humanities scholarship and creativity in a thriving and just society.
