College of Applied Human Sciences

At the College of Applied Human Sciences (CAHS), learning is hands-on and purpose-driven. Our students are preparing for careers that shape how people learn, perform, and thrive. They are future leaders in education, health and wellness, and sport, who will make a difference across West Virginia and beyond.

Your support fuels a college defined by real-world impact. Each year, CAHS students complete more than 150,000 hours of hands-on experiential learning that gives them the confidence and skills to step directly into their professions. At the same time, our student-first approach that is grounded in personalized advising, career development, and integrated support helps ensure students persist and succeed.

As part of West Virginia University’s land-grant mission, CAHS is active in service to all 55 counties, addressing urgent needs such as strengthening literacy, expanding mental health services, improving physical activity and wellness, and supporting educators and communities statewide. Our faculty-led research and community partnerships translate knowledge into action and improves lives where it matters most

On this Day of Giving, you can help power education that works. Your generosity supports scholarships, experiential learning, student success initiatives, and applied research that ensures the next generation of Mountaineers is prepared to create lasting change.  Together, we can ignite purpose and expand impact.

Let’s go!
