Open the world for a Mountaineer
At West Virginia University, we believe global experiences change lives. When students step into new cultures, new perspectives, and new challenges, they grow. And they bring that growth back to our campuses, our communities, and our state.
Last year, 167 students received more than $107,000 in study abroad scholarships, helping Mountaineers explores opportunities they otherwise couldn’t afford — internships overseas, faculty-led programs, research experiences, and transformative semesters abroad.
But we know there are more students ready to go.
This year, we’re prioritizing study abroad scholarships so that cost doesn’t prevent students from benefiting from experiences abroad. For many, even a small funding gap can be the deciding factor.
At the same time, we remain committed to supporting international students who choose WVU. Many travel far from family and support systems to pursue their education here. Scholarship and hardship assistance helps them stay enrolled, stay focused, and fully engage in campus life.
Your gift can help:
- Close the financial gap for WVU students seeking global experience
- Provide critical scholarship support for international students studying in West Virginia
- Expand access to internships, research, and hands-on global learning opportunities
- Ensure global education is accessible — not exclusive
Join us in opening the world for more Mountaineers.
Every gift makes a difference.
