West Virginia 4-H: Beyond Ready
West Virginia 4-H isn’t just preparing kids for the future, we’re empowering them to be Beyond Ready. We don’t just teach skills; we instill confidence, resilience, and a passion for service. We equip young people to adapt, lead, and thrive no matter what the future holds.
With clubs, camps, and hands-on learning in all 55 counties, 4-H shapes the next generation through four key focus areas:
- Healthy Living
Encouraging lifelong well-being through nutrition, fitness, mental health awareness, and healthy lifestyle choices. - Leadership & Civic Engagement
Developing strong leaders who serve their communities and make a lasting impact. - STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)
Fueling innovation through exploration, problem-solving, and hands-on discovery across all STEM disciplines. - Agriculture & Natural Resources
Connecting youth to the land through farming, conservation, and environmental stewardship.
4-H youth don’t just prepare for life, they go beyond expectations. Research shows that 4-H’ers are more ready to tackle life’s challenges than their peers, but that’s just the beginning. They push past what’s expected, explore what’s possible, and use their skills to create real change. That’s why so many 4-H’ers grow up to invest in others, lead their communities, and give back in ways that matter.
But our local 4-H programs can’t thrive without you.
Every dollar stays local, making an immediate impact on youth in your county. Whether it’s helping a child attend 4-H camp, providing workforce development opportunities, supporting volunteers, or expanding agricultural education, your gift fuels the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
Each county has unique needs, amp scholarships, program supplies, as well as hands-on learning experiences like shooting sports, leadership trips. Some County Camp’s currently have maintenance needs that are currently the priority for their camping program. Additionally, 4-H provides opportunities for youth to explore career pathways through hands-on skill-building. By engaging in real-world experiences, 4-H’ers develop the adaptability, problem-solving skills, and leadership needed to succeed in their future careers. Choose your county from the drop-down link.
You can also support statewide efforts that provide critical resources for 4-H youth across West Virginia. State-level funding opportunities help develop project book curriculum, train volunteers, offer scholarships for state camps at Jackson’s Mill, send STEM Ambassadors to teach hands-on lessons at county camps, and so much more.
Your support provides the “extras” that turn potential into achievement, giving kids the chance to explore new skills, gain confidence, and connect with a community that lasts a lifetime.
