Since 1972 the School of Medicine’s Charleston Campus, in partnership with the Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC), has been a cornerstone in shaping the next generation of physicians. Our campus’ clinical learning opportunities are more than just academic exercises; they are immersive experiences that equip our students with the skills they need to thrive in residency and their eventual medical field.
Our campus offers high-volume, high-quality clinical education in a tight-knit community cultivated by our faculty, staff, and alumni. Our small, regional setting fosters personal and professional development while ensuring that our students graduate with clinical confidence and experiences that inspire them to grow into compassionate, community-connected physicians.
In order to provide our students with more than a clinical education, we need the continued support of donors. Your gift – no matter the size – has the power to help shape the future of medical education. Support for any of the funds listed below can significantly enhance the Charleston Campus experience:
Lauren M. Armistead Award (Scholarship) - Charleston Division (3Z174)
Established in memory of Lauren M. Armistead, MD (WVU SoM, 2005), who passed away in a plane crash, along with her parents and sister. The scholarship is awarded in recognition of an MS4 Charleston student who exemplifies excellence in academics and interpersonal communication skills, along with a love of medicine and the ability to experience life to the fullest outside of medicine.
Charleston Division Dean’s Scholarship (2S602)
Invest in the future of medicine. Your donation to medical students at the Charleston Division helps build a brighter future for aspiring clinicians by easing the financial burden they face as future healthcare providers.
Charleston Division Greatest Needs Fund (2U035)
Support from our campus’ community, alumni and friends is critical to the vitality of our WVU School of Medicine Charleston Division. Your generous contribution to our greatest needs fund will help us turn challenges into opportunities to model compassion and support for a new generation of medical students.
