2025 WVU Day of Giving

Mark your calendars! WVU’s eighth Day of Giving is March 26, 2025.

During this 24-hour giving event, you can donate to any of your favorite WVU causes and help them win additional funding through challenges throughout the event.

The first 50 gifts to Data Driven WV (2W1407) will unlock a gift of $10,000 to support students solving real-world problems that advance the prosperity and economic health of West Virginia.

Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management Challenge
35 gifts to the Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management challenge will unlock an additional $10,000 gift from Darren Veneri and Tina Bigalke to provide experiential learning opportunities for both undergraduate students in the Human Resource Management program and graduate students in the Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources program. These experiences include, but aren’t limited to, industry trips, case competitions, internship access, and other outside of the classroom learning experiences.

45 gifts to the Finance Department will unlock a $10,000 gift to provide experiential opportunities including a professional image dinner to elevate students' networking and etiquette skills, industry-recognized certifications that augment students' skill set and enhance their marketability, and career pathways exploration trips to prominent financial institutions and corporate headquarters to facilitate interactions with industry professionals, alumni, and recruiters for undergraduate students in the Finance Department.

Student Support Challenge
75 gifts to the Center for Career Development will unlock an additional $10,000 gift to enable more students access to internship support and experiential trips. Internship access support allows students to complete competitive internships by offsetting costs associated with housing, transportation, and more. To celebrate the Honors College’s 19th anniversary of becoming a College, the 25th gift of $100 or more will unlock an $19,000 gift from the Honors College Visiting Committee and Dean Ken Blemings to support the University Honors Program Fund. Help spread the word about WVU Day of Giving by sharing the promotional video from the @WVUFoundation Facebook account (posted on March 17). The top three participating groups that receive the most shares of the video from their page from March 17 through the end of the day on March 25 will win additional funding.

On social, post a picture of yourself and/or your kid(s) in WVU gear and we’ll select some of the most creative to earn additional funding. 35 gifts to the Student Fellowship fund will unlock a gift of $18,000 to provide career relevant paid employment opportunities to students in the Chambers College. These paid positions, averaging $10,000 a year, provide students the opportunity to gain resume-worthy experience in support the College, the community and our partners while also helping to offset the cost of living in Morgantown, removing that cost barrier to retention for our students.

School of Medicine Challenge
The first 40 gifts to any School of Medicine fund unlocks $25,000 to STEPS fund. Every time an additional 40 gifts is donated to the School of Medicine, an additional $25,000 is unlocked with the chance to unlock a total of $100,000 in support to STEPS.
