Student Life creates an extraordinary, transformative experience that promotes the academic, personal and social success of every student.
In partnership with our University colleagues, we offer the highest quality programs, services and opportunities to support WVU’s student-centered learning environment.
Supporting our students comes in many forms. Sometimes they need a little extra to help them earn their degree. You can be the difference in someone's life.
Why we need your support
Your gifts enrich the student experience by improving the resources we offer. Our 20+ departments are dedicated to helping students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
How you can help
Contributing to a priority fund is one way to help Student Life.
Greatest Needs – Student Life Unrestricted Fund
Giving to our greatest needs enhances the student experience by supporting leadership, educational, health and wellness, diversity and social opportunities for all WVU students.
Your gift helps us plan programming, support student travel to conferences and educational events, and serve our greatest needs as they arise.
WVU Student Food Pantry
This fund supports “The Rack,” a nonprofit organization that provides perishable and nonperishable food items to students experiencing financial difficulty. All WVU students are eligible to use the food pantry, which has served thousands of students since 2010.
Kenneth D. and Carolyn T. Gray Student Emergency Fund
Established in 2013 by retired Student Life vice president Ken Gray and his wife, Carolyn, this fund assists students who experience a sudden financial hardship that could prevent them from continuing their education or otherwise impact their success at WVU. Last year, donors contributed $237,000 to this fund to support students affected by the flooding in southern West Virginia. More than 30 students received $70,616 from the fund for the 2016-17 school year.
