WVU Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion provides ways to help every Mountaineer feel celebrated, included, and appreciated.
Your support is crucial to helping support our goals in creating a diverse and welcoming WVU Community. We rely on passionate, loyal, and caring members of the Mountaineer family, like you, to provide important opportunities for our WVU students and the greater WVU community.
This year we are highlighting three funds that are of the upmost importance to the division. By donating to any of these funds on our Day of Giving you are helping to support student programs, sponsor unique and diverse events, and also helping to offset the cost of tuition for our Mountaineers.
- WVU Diversity Initiatives Fund: Donations to this fund allows the division to support student programs, sponsor multicultural experiences, host diverse speakers, and create unique events on campus that allow everyone at WVU to feel welcome and included. View the video above to learn more about how you can help WVU with Diversity Initiatives.
- DEI Unrestricted Scholarship Fund: Many students from underrepresented groups face financial barriers that can prevent them from pursuing their educational goals. Through this emergency fund, you can provide resources for these students to receive and maintain access to a WVU education.
- Horace and Geraldine Belmear Scholarship: Black alumni are renewing efforts to expand opportunities for minority students, specifically BIPOC Mountaineers. This scholarship honors a legacy of excellence cultivated by Horace and Geraldine Belmear who worked together to recruit, retain and support a generation of Black students.
