WVU Online, formerly Extended Learning, offered its first distance education program in 1995. WVU took to the airwaves via satellite to offer the Master of Science in Nursing live from Morgantown to students located in Charleston, WV. Then, in 1997, WVU began offering the Master of Arts in Special Education online. Today, WVU Online offers over 35 degrees and certificates with 2,400 fully online students.
Why we need your support
Online is more than a delivery modality. It is a way for WVU to reach students across West Virginia and beyond. WVU Online provides access to a West Virginia University degree for those that cannot come to campus. We are working to knock down the barriers that prohibit individuals from furthering their education.
Be a Mountaineer Wherever You May Be has become our mantra. We believe in West Virginia University, and that individuals deserve access to a quality education regardless of their location.
Your generosity will provide the momentum we need to change lives and help us fulfill our land-grant mission. Together, we can help transform West Virginia.
