The West Virginia University Esports team has quickly become one of the premier teams in collegiate esports since it was established in October 2021. With three national championships and an appearance at the 2023 Collegiate Rocket League World Championships, the Mountaineers have competed against and beaten some of the top talent across the world in Call of Duty, Madden, Rocket League, and Valorant.
Your support is critical in helping WVU Esports — which currently consists of 20 student-athletes competing in leagues and tournaments throughout the school year, as well as more than a dozen student workers who work behind the scenes to run multiple live broadcasts weekly and creating content about the program — continue to grow and strive to be bigger and better than other varsity esports programs. Part of our mission is to build a thriving esports community that creates a diverse and inclusive culture that advances opportunities in esports and gaming for all people at WVU. Through our work in gaming, content, and in the community, WVU Esports wants to give the gaming community in West Virginia something to be proud of.
By donating during WVU Day of Giving, you can help us give our students more opportunities to travel to compete in tournaments, provide better equipment to serve the needs of our players, and help to improve the production value of our broadcasts and other content we create with our program.
No matter how big or small, your donations are greatly appreciated by our students.
