The School of Medicine’s Eastern Campus, in partnership with WVU Medicine Berkeley and Jefferson Medical Centers, has provided clinical training in a rural setting for third- and fourth-year medical students for 20 years. Our students come to us not only for the one-on-one student-to-faculty educational opportunities but for the community-centered with a strong focus on rural health for our students, residents and fellows. Our students take advantage of campus resources such as the simulation lab and the various placements in the associated hospitals and clinics across the Eastern panhandle. The goal is to give the student the best possible clinical exposure to patient care with continued academic excellence in education. The culture and community draw many of our students to live and learn on our Eastern Campus, but with the support of donors, we can provide life-changing educational experiences that will benefit them and have them coming back to our area over the course of their lives.
