WVU Alumni Greatest Needs


When you contribute to the WVU Alumni Association, you play a pivotal role in facilitating internships and career development opportunities, granting scholarships to deserving students, and fostering global outreach by connecting alumni and friends. It's a true embodiment of Mountaineers helping Mountaineers. Your generous gift goes beyond monetary value – it has an immeasurable impact on the lives of both current students and fellow alumni.

Funds raised through the WVU Alumni Greatest Needs Fund will directly support: 

Internships and Career Development: 

Each year, the Alumni Association engages a team of interns who gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, business administration, hospitality management, and event planning. Your gift empowers students to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios, preparing them for the workforce.

Engagement with Alumni and Friends:

The Alumni Association fosters connections across the country through over 75 chapters and interest groups. These groups volunteer, support Mountaineers, recruit prospective students, and fundraise for student scholarships, sustaining a vibrant network of alumni and friends.

Student-Centered Programming:

The WVU Alumni Association prioritizes supporting students throughout their journey, from programming and scholarships to internships. This commitment ensures a seamless transition from student life to becoming proud alumni.

Professional Networking:

Supporting graduates through networking opportunities is a core focus. Whether aiding recent graduates in transitioning to new careers, connecting business leaders, or facilitating Mountaineer-to-Mountaineer hiring, your support empowers the formation of meaningful partnerships with WVU and the state of West Virginia.

Alumni Travel and Outreach:

Initiatives to keep alumni connected and informed include the WVU Alumni Newsletter, WVU Travel Program, and content in the WVU Magazine. Your contribution ensures the continuous production of these resources and programs, enhancing the connection between alumni and their alma mater.

Your support actively shapes the vibrant community of Mountaineers and reinforces the enduring bond with West Virginia University as we create moments for years to come.
