WVU Libraries remains an essential resource for our students, faculty and the communities of West Virginia. We see nearly 1.5 million visitors throughout the year, but students are especially quick to find us right from the start and all the way through finals week.
Why we need your support
Each day, the libraries provide continuous access to technology, study space and programming on campuses in Morgantown, Beckley, Charleston and Keyser. Online, more than 1.3 million logins keep our research librarians and staff in high demand.
Our primary resources are also used in the classroom. For instance, the Rockefeller School of Public Policy has access to archival resources of the John D. Rockefeller IV papers, and rare books, like our Shakespeare folios, are a unique teaching tool that draw interest worldwide.
With the escalating costs of electronic resources, the need for more advanced teaching and study spaces and the continual challenge of housing our extensive collections, we need your support now more than ever. Your contributions are essential for growth and allowing us to take advantage of new opportunities.
How you can help
- Greatest Needs
This fund helps us fill the most urgent needs at any time. Annual gifts to this fund support important purchases of library resources and technology, upgrades in student services and unique programming opportunities.
- Health Sciences Library Fund
This fund supports the unique needs of our Health Sciences community. Your gift will provide for specific library resources that are shared across the state at the WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown and at the Charleston Medical Library. Additionally, these funds will support academic efforts through use of technology on the campus where students attend class and work in the labs and clinics.
- West Virginia and Regional History Center
Gifts to this fund support the specific scholarly acquisitions of our primary source collections, including the rare book room, the Appalachian collection, the congressional archives, our genealogy source material and many others.
