The WVU Cancer Institute touches the lives of thousands through clinical services, internationally recognized innovations in clinical research and education of the next generation of cancer experts.
Why we need your support
More than 11,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed in West Virginia annually. The WVU Cancer Institute is at the forefront of research, education and patient care. Each year, we have 40,000+ patient visits and conduct research in 60+ labs.
To meet the needs of the state, we have recently opened our second and third floor expansion to provide additional clinical and office space for our clinical staff. In addition, we are over halfway through our expansion efforts of recruiting 38 new cancer specialists by 2020.
How you can help
One way to support these efforts is to give to one of the priority funds:
Research Physician Recruitment Fund
This fund assists with helping us to recruit the best and brightest Research Physicians to keep Cancer Care right here in the state.
Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment
The Huggins Endowment Fund supports clinical cancer research, targeting many types of the disease that are common among residents of the Mountain State, which has one of the highest cancer mortality rates in the nation.
Soup for the Soul
By providing lunch during infusion, we hope to provide our patients nourishment and comfort as they receive chemotherapy and infusions to treat their cancer.
Please consider making a gift today. When you give, you enable us to discover the latest therapies, continue our groundbreaking research and, most importantly, save lives as we work together to create a cancer-free world.
